About Revomia

Flashcards with spaced repetition to remember for good

Revomia is an app for learning with flashcards and spaced repetition. You collect material into topics, and the service brings each card back when it is time to review it. A whole topic never lands on you at once: a day only holds the part that is due.

Our mission

To keep reviewing from turning into a separate job: no lists in a notebook, no keeping track in your head of what to repeat and when. German words, Git commands, medical terms, interview questions — cards work the same way for anything you need to remember.

How it works

You create a topic and fill it with cards: by hand or generated from text or a photograph. Then you set the schedule: the list of pauses between reviews and how many cards to take at a time. A card comes up on its own when its day arrives; once the pauses run out, it does not come back. Statistics show how many cards you have gone through and what is still ahead. More about the method itself is in the article on spaced learning.

You set the schedule, not an algorithm

This is where we differ from most similar services. The pauses between reviews come from the topic rule: a list of ten intervals that you can see and change. No algorithm moves the dates for you — an «easy» or «hard» rating goes into statistics but does not shift the next showing. Miss a day and nothing piles up: the countdown starts from the moment you opened the card, not from the date you missed.

What else is inside

A card can be read aloud if you are learning pronunciation. A ready-made topic from the catalogue is added by subscribing, so you do not have to build a deck from scratch. Statistics show how cards are spread across repetition steps, so you can see what is almost learned and what has only just started. With your permission the browser will remind you when there is something to review. The interface is translated into Ukrainian, English, German and Russian.

Who it is for

Students, developers, language learners and anyone who needs to remember for the long run rather than until tomorrow’s exam. The card format does not depend on the subject: a flashcard holds a German word, a formula and a textbook definition equally well.

Where to start

Create a topic and add your first cards — by hand, from your notes or by photographing a textbook page. After that it is enough to open the learning page: the service will show what is worth reviewing today. The schedule can be changed at any point, even mid-study.
